DC Zero-Flux Transformer
The DC Zero-Flux Transformer measures DC currents (direct currents) of all types. Its applications are very diverse, wherever DC currents are to be measured (e.g.: traction systems operated with DC, HVDC applications (high-voltage DC transmission), converter stations, test laboratories, PV systems, etc.).
Proven fully casted Pfiffner transformers with over 40 years lifetime in combination with robust electronics with up to 15 years lifetime.
The DC Zero-Flux Transformer has no errors due to its design and principle. The reason for this is the magnetization, which allows very accurate measurements (<0.1%).
AC currents can also be measured or small DC currents can superimpose the AC currents.
The Zero-Flux Transformer can be encapsulated analog to a conventional cable transformer. However, it can also be permanently encapsulated in an aluminum mold, comparable to an outdoor current transformer from a transmission network.
The design of the converter can be customer- and project-specific (flexible design of the active part). It offers high flexibility in design and layout.
Very fast evaluations are possible (bandwidth flux controller approx. 25 kHz). This prevents the balancing processes in the network ("transients") from being incorrectly displayed.
