ALPHA disconnector at the Museum of Transport

ALPHA-ET disconnector has been part of the "Experience #Energy!" exhibition at the Museum of Transport in Lucerne since mid-April.

In January 2023, the disconnector department received an order from the Swissgrid AG for the delivery of a 170kV pantograph disconnector. For the first time in the history of ALPHA Elektrotechnik AG, it is not located in a substation, but in the most visited museum in Switzerland: The Museum of Transport in Lucerne. The order is for the new building in the museum, the "House of Energy". It was delivered in mid-March and is now part of a permanent exhibition, which is planned for the period of five to ten years.

"I am pleased to know that we are contributing to an exhibition with important themes in an emblematic museum in Switzerland," says Sibyl Schüpbach, constructor at ALPHA-ET.

The "House of Energy" is intended to be a public space for exhibitions, conferences, and events. The exhibition "Experience #Energy!" was opened in mid-April, where the ALPHA disconnector finds its place in a 600 m² area. This in addition to other exhibits that revolve around the topic of the history of energy in Switzerland.

At this point, we would like to thank the Swissgrid AG and the Museum of Transport in Lucerne for giving us the opportunity to contribute to this exhibition.
