ESD guns are calibrated according to the latest standard IEC/EN 61000-4-2. This Calibration Set allows the user to take measurements conforming to the new 4 GHz requirement in accordance with the latest IEC 61000-4-2.
Measurement of individual impulse parameters is performed using a special coaxial current shunt. This has a nominal impedance of 2 Ohms. Because ESD events can be generated as high as 120 A, attenuators are required to reduce the impulse-voltage level so it can be displayed on commercial oscilloscopes. An oscilloscope with minimum 2 GHz bandwidth is required to properly display the ESD impulse. The Calibration Set has been developed as a tidy unit with the cable, attenuator and measuring target required to perform IEC/EN 61000-4-2 calibrations. The ESD Calibration Set is complete with instructions and application sheet.
